EVENING FOOD BANK: The WCFB is open the second and fourth Wednesday evenings every month from 6:00 - 8:00 pm to accommodate clients who work during regular business hours and need supplemental food. The evening hours are conducted in cooperation with the White Center Kiwanis Club, Hillcrest Presbyterian Church, and the 34th District Democrats.
SENIOR DAYS: Every Thursday between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, our senior clients can receive food that helps them meet their unique dietary needs.
SATURDAY FOOD BANK: Third Saturday of every month from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm to help clients who have busy work schedules and to help ease the crowding of certain days. .
BABY PANTRY: The WCFB supplies infant and child items in cooperation with Westside Baby and the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. WCFB distributes infant formula, jars of baby food, infant cereal, and other items specifically for infants and young children. We are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 1:00 - 4:00 pm.
HOME DELIVERY: The WCFB provides home delivery service to clients in special circumstances, such as special medical needs, advanced age, or homebound. Door-to-door emergency food relief is an anticipated growth service.
COMMUNITY GARDEN: The food bank partners with the White Center Community Development Association and King County Parks to administer the community garden at White Center Heights Park. Raised beds are available to the community through a lottery. The food bank will have garden tools and provide education on organic gardening. The food bank will garden one of the raised beds to provide additional produce for its clients. Gardeners may volunteer to donate produce to the food bank. This garden provides the community with fresh produce to supplement their diet.
EMERGENCY FEEDING PROGRAM: Our partnership with the Emergency Feeding Program allows us to provide clients with emergency food bags if they come to the food bank outside of regular distribution hours or if they have already received maximum services for the month. Each bag provides emergency food for at least 2 days. We distribute emergency bags Monday - Friday between 9 AM and 5 PM.
HEALTHY FOOD GIFT CERTIFICATES: Monthly each client/family receives a $5 certificate redeemable at either Lee's Produce or Samway Market located in White Center for fresh produce - both markets offer cultural selections and great prices which stretches a $5 purchase and supplements our distribution.
MOBILE FOOD BANK PROGRAM: Delivering bi-weekly to seniors and disabled residents only in designated buildings within White Center, currently Arrowhead Gardens, the Nia Apartments and St. Joseph House. If you are a resident of either building, please watch for our fliers and speak to building management about our delivery schedule. This program allows seniors and disabled persons who are unable to reach our location due to medical conditions, lack of transportation or homebound status to still receive nutritious foods right in their buildings.
